Graduate Consultant

We are looking for an enthusiastic, energetic, and ambitious Graduate Consultant with the desire to develop their career in a fast-moving entrepreneurial environment.

Due to our continued rapid growth, we are looking for great people to join our dynamic Consulting/build team and our Application Support team for our industry-leading financial reconciliation software solutions. In this role you will be responsible for delivering and configuring the Aurum platform to reconcile the complex high volume financial data sources that our customers need to manage, creating a solution that adds real value and control to their processing. You may also be dealing with escalated customer support cases to ensure this continues to deliver successful outcomes.

This will typically involve working with our Project Lead/Business analysts to understand the customer's reconciliation, control and reporting requirements and dealing with multiple data sources, then configuring/scripting the Aurum product to meet the client’s specific needs and deliver a solution of real value. You will identify ways of effectively automating the injection of these data sources through APIs and other integration technologies. You will be helping us deliver products and services that will be used by a range of high profile clients across a diverse range of industries and geographies.

You will be exposed to many aspects of the product delivery lifecycle including Project Management and Business Analysis, and responsible for scripting and testing, as well as implementation and training with our clients. Business analysis is an in-demand skill across all industries. If you want to launch a career in a practice where your skills are highly valued and in demand across the technology sector and beyond, this is a great place to start.

As a junior member of the team, you will be fully supported and mentored to become successful in your role – and gain skills that will give you the opportunity to progress to other roles within Aurum.

Separate from the core role, all team members are encouraged to be involved in our improvement initiatives, providing a great opportunity to demonstrate and develop your skill set and focus on areas of your specific interests.

What we expect from you:

  • A BSc in Computational Mathematics, Maths, Computer Science, or similar.
  • Basic knowledge of Databases, writing queries, etc (e.g. MS SQL Server, PostgreSQL or Oracle).
  • Interest in technology.
  • Strong work ethic and can-do attitude.
  • Personable and social.
  • Problem-solving mindset.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Willingness to discuss and challenge ideas as part of our continuous improvement strategy.

Nice to have:

  • Experience in working with APIs and Postman.
  • Experience in working e.g. Microsoft Visual Studio, Python and writing scripts.
  • General understanding of accounting principles and terminology.

What you'll get:

  • Competitive salary with share option scheme.
  • Regular company social activities, team-building events and a fun work environment (e.g., Breakfast Mondays, Beer & Pizza Thursdays, etc.).
  • Dog-friendly office.
  • Ongoing training and development.
  • Great offices to work at in the heart of Reading town centre.
  • Learning opportunities and experience in a fast-growing company.
  • Opportunity to work with passionate people.
  • 25 days annual leave, employer pension contribution and death in service insurance.
