With large numbers of transactions passing through La Tinka’s accounts every month, Binclin Vargas and his Treasury team shoulder a lot of responsibility. A responsibility which is continuing to grow as La Tinka moves more into the digital realm where the promise of transactional volume increasing and the possibility of implementing new PSPs both lie.

La Tinka therefore required a way to futureproof their financial operations, enabling their business to grow both sustainably and safely. Due to reconciliation being the bedrock of all financial operations, this is where they prioritised ensuring accuracy, scalability, efficiency, and flexibility – all of which they couldn’t guarantee with manual reconciliation.

Digital operations naturally accelerate at a greater rate. The fact that La Tinka’s digital channel was already processing thousand of transactions a month when Aurum was first adopted, made it imperative for implementation to be swiftly completed.

The Aurum team therefore did what they do best – going above and beyond to deliver ultimate customer satisfaction. This transpired with the team working around the clock despite the 5-hour time zone difference between Peru and the UK, resulting in all deadlines being met.

With Aurum up and running for La Tinka, they experienced results in equally quick time thanks to Aurum’s automation speeds. For instance, regardless of their size, every day entire accounts are now fully reconciled in a maximum of 2 minutes, with some only taking 5 seconds.

The software is friendly and intuitive – the benefit was recognised instantly in the team.

Timesaving on such a great scale has resulted in the Treasury team at La Tinka focussing their energies on various value-adding activities which they previously did not have the capacity to engage in.
