In the sixth year of the Thames Valley Tech & Innovation Awards – an event dedicated to celebrating a diverse range of leading businesses from the region – Aurum Solutions joined prestigious company at the Madjeski Stadium in Reading.

Receiving nominations to be finalists across the categories of FinTech Company of the Year, High Growth Company of the Year, Tech Leader of the Year, and Rising Star in Tech for both Aurum CEO, Tiago Veiga, and Aurum CMO, Vasco Vaz Rodrigues, the strength of Aurum Solutions’ business and people were already recognised by judges prior to the main event. This was reflected by how across the various awards, Aurum had to meet the criteria of “providing unique fintech solutions”, “developing groundbreaking advancements in fintech”, “improving regulatory compliance”, “company growth”, “exceptional leadership”, and much more.

On the night at Reading Football Club’s stadium, given that the awards were an opportunity to celebrate how far Aurum Solutions had come as a company, 10 team members from various departments were invited to attend. Along with other nominees, they were joined by event sponsors including NatWest, Penningtons Manches Cooper, and Boyes Turner.

With food and drinks provided, standup comedy delivered by Simon Evans, and an auction led by the charity, SpecialEffect, the evening was already a success. However, it would soon become even more of one for Aurum Solutions specifically, joining Redstor as the only firm to win more than one award on the night.

Firstly, it was announced that Aurum CEO, Tiago Veiga, had won the Rising Star in Tech Award. As a highly driven individual whose high levels of positivity can only be matched by his understanding of how technology should be optimised with core audiences in mind, this was a true testament to the work he has achieved in the space of a mere two - but very productive years – as the leader of Aurum.

In a team, while personal distinctions are great achievements, they often mean very little without collective accomplishments. In other words, a manager is unlikely to celebrate winning the Manager of the Year Award if their team is quickly knocked out of a major competition. This is why, as much as I am glad to have won the Rising Star in Tech Award, I was absolutely buzzing when Aurum Solutions were announced as Fintech Company of the Year. I am incredibly proud to be leading this resilient group of winners!

Shortly later, Tiago returned to the stage, but this time with his Aurum colleagues to collect the FinTech Company of the Year Award. With financial processes, payment systems, and FinTech innovations all perpetually evolving, Aurum’s ability to help firms scale compliantly, gain data insights, and reclaim valuable time through automated reconciliation software was a feat that judges felt was worthy of this award.

Notably, Tiago and Aurum Solutions view both awards as a platform for further accomplishments and continued work towards ensuring that Aurum Solutions' ambitious plans for the rest of this year are equally as successful as their evening at the Thames Valley Tech & Innovation Awards 2024.

To gain recognition as FinTech Company of the Year in an area that is labelled as the UK’s number one tech cluster is an amazing achievement and one that we are extremely proud of. Typically, FinTech is known for grabbing the headlines for new customer-facing innovations so it’s nice for us to share the limelight tonight for the work we do behind the scenes, enabling new payment technologies and the like to scale compliantly at speed.
